If that's truly the case, then that doesn't make her awful, just wrong.

It's also not the case. There are lots of details in her work that I'd like to debate, as is the case with many people's academic work, but it's basically a solid study, if in unusual format.

And frankly, if you don't usually go around examining the academic merits of scientific research, perhaps not even claim to have the competence to do so in fields you might not have studied, and suddenly feel the need to present such an evaluation in Sarkeesian's case, then you might want to check whether you have full clarity on your own motives.

Also, not aware of any legitimate criticisms of Sarkeesian's work. I think she is largely correct, and the virulent reaction against her combined with threats of violence speak well to that likelihood.

Off the top of my head, playing a game where you're penalized for being a psychopath, playing it like a psychopath for the bad looking game footage, then lying and saying it's a game where you're rewarded for grisly sexual violence.

Jesus Christ, no one is endorsing harassment but, yes, there is something funny about a self declared feminist offering to fuck multiple game reviewers in order to get better reviews for a game that got panned by everyone she didn't fuck. Oh, and yeah it does show just how much most of the game review sites are worth.
