Yes, I know the film doesn't open for another week, but I'm getting a head start just in case some of the more "resourceful member of WF are able to get an early viewing.

And be sure to use spoiler tags or I will send Donald Trump to your house to slap you in the face with wet lettuce!

Why are spoiler tags necessary in a thread title with the word 'spoilers'? It's self explanatory.

A lot of people won't see this on the first day, but there always has to be super nerd cunts who see it on the first day and rush in to gloat all about it and drop all the spoilers. That's why tags are need.

You aren't one of those kinds are you BD? :calli:

But the tags are not needed, because the entire point of this thread (note the title) is that it contains spoilers. We have at least three other threads for the folks who have enough of a life not to see it opening night.

Not true. It is very common on the internet these days for there to be non-spoiler reviews. Therefore the tags are need to distinguish from them.

It says "spoilers" right there in the thread title.

Tags not required unless the post author just wants to use them.

Sorry, when I said tags I mean what is said in the title as opposed to the things used for code.

Just got back from seeing it. The Luke and yoda sex scene was strangley organic yet the reveal in the end that BB8 was a Sith apprentice was a stupid move.

Also, wrong font and poor use of lense flares.

Also, while everyone suspected the sordid love triangle between Han, Chewie and Greedo, I'm not convinced that the flashback explicitly detailing it with their sex blasters was needed. It also gives an entirely new meaning to calling Wookiees 'walking [shag] carpets' :calli:

I thought overall it was a great movie. full of the continuity problems and leaps in logic that Star Wars movies are known for but still well worth watching. Not as good as the original Star Wars (much less The Empire Strikes Back) but probably roughly equal to Return of the Jedi overall and much better than any of the three prequels.

Watching Harrison Ford chew the scenery early on is worth seeing alone. In fact the first half of the movie is arguably the best the Star Wars franchise has to offer but the movie bogs down considerably in the last hour as it tends to turn into a "can you top this" CGIfest. The "overly cute droid" played for comic relief might get on peoples nerves but that has been a Star Wars trope going all the way back to R2D2 and C3POs first appearance in the original.

There is a huge "WTF was that moment" at the two thirds point of the movie that if you blink you'll miss it. It seems like there was some kind of expository scene that might've been cut.

Overall I'll be getting the DVD eventually (something I seldom do).

Man, I totally must have blinked and missed the WTF moment. I hope they don't edit it out for the Blue Ray release.

I stepped out to throw up during that scene as the scene preceding it was the one where 3po was forced by bb8 to disembowel r2d2. It was so disturbing. :sob:

The sex video between Leia and Jabba that surfaces was also disturbing, but Chewbacca's reaction to it was hilarious.

True but more for what it didn't have than what it did.

Kind of like the upcoming GOP ticket, it suffers from a lack of bush.......

What's more horrifying was the reveal of what was inside R2D2. I don't want to overly spoil it, but let's just say best sleeper agent ever. That "EXTERMINATE!".... *shudder*

And all this time everyone thought it would be Star Trek involved in any kind of cross franchising given the J.J. Abrams connection.

I give Abrams this, he did a nice job directing though the lens flares during the love scenes were probably a bit much....

There apparently have been some preview screenings. I wonder when we start seeing real reviews.

World premiere is tonight, we should be seeing some non-spoiler Twitter reactions late this evening.

I have a hard time believing Disney would roll out this kind of hype only to get egg on their faces because the film sucks.

So some people have apparently seen The Force Awakens. This dude says that it's good fun but that the plot is a bit shallow and very derivative of the old SW movies.

Probably about what you expect from Abrams.
