Have you ever wondered why lots of men support abortion rights?

Trust me, it isn't because they are big believers in the rights of women.

So why not execute the doctors who perform an abortion?

You also support abortion, if the fetus isn't what you would consider to be someone who will be immoral, or as you described in the past, disgusting, abomination, repulsive, depraved, degenerate. or whatever description strikes you at the moment. You support such an abortion of someone who does not have any other physical, mental, medical defect other than one you consider to be a reason worthy of abortion.

So yeah, you support abortion over something that does not affect you in any way, or how productive the person can be, or any other thing they are capable of, except for something more and more people don't even care baout.

You want mothers, actually expect them to abort a fetus if they have a possibility of being gay.

How do you explain or defend that one, and BTW, you were totally proven wrong and totally owned over that stance. So yeah, fuck you, you're more than anything, a strong argument for the right to an abortion.

Good point! The men don't want to be stuck with having to financially support the kid. Many men "man up" and don't fuck & run. They are 50 percent of the equation in making the baby, so they are willing (if reluctant) to pay their share. Thus no baby means no financial burden. I get that. But as a father/grandfather, I would be devastated and disappointed if anyone in my family wanted to abort, or encouraged their family members/sex partners to abort. Should it be legal? Who am I to judge? But it is indeed taking a human life, and barring debilitating birth defects (that would greatly affect the long-term quality of life) or rape, it's taking a human life in the name of convenience. If I took an adult human life in the name of convenience (maybe I want to bring back dueling!) you would be supportive of my decision, right? :chris:

Don't fool yourself, there are no amount of changes you can achieve that will get a bigot to be pleased with you. Muslim people could reject Mohammed and accept Christ as their savior and he will find some reason to hate them.

For those of you who are against abortion except in cases of rape, are you concerned that banning abortion will, in addition to bringing back the back alley variety, also lead to an increase in false rape accusations?

This is a huge concern for me because genuine rape victims are already questioned like they are the criminal and have to go through so much pain and humiliation to come forward. With every new false rape claim made, how many true rape victims will decide not to report it because hey...no one is going to believe them anyway.

    :wtf:

You know, when you can't think of an answer, it's ok to just think about it before you respond. Not everything has to be an "us vs. them" situation where people with opposing viewpoints are out to get you. It is relevant. Will it hurt you to just think about it?

@Mrs. Albert, thank you for your thoughtful post. I wasn't around back in the day, but I'm glad you are posting now. I'll refer you to what I said upthread. I have personally been involved in an abortion and regretted it ever since. That being said, I too share those concerns, I just don't want it to be used as de facto birth control. in my opinion, it's not a light decision to make. Also, I think there's other reasons other than rape to have an abortion, so I think there must be a cutoff point, but one month is not it.

    Abortion is murder.

If you support elective abortion, your moral credibility is zero and I don't want to hear from you on essentially any topic at all.

Even if abortion were a social problem, which it isn't, then making it illegal isn't the best way to reduce the number of abortions. Much like drugs, if people want them, they'll get them. All Republican policies do is make abortions more expensive, dangerous, and burdensome. Democratic policies--making birth control more available, providing support for mothers, investing in schools, and other things that make it more convenient to have children--actually reduce abortions.

But we all know it's not about protecting children. It's about conservative Christians' unease with sex. It's about punishing loose women. That's the beginning and end of it.

Well, a couple of points here. One is that ideologues on both sides really like to pick and choose what they consider to be "legitimate" rights. The other is, while I hope this state law gets struck down on the basis of Roe v. Wade at the Federal level, the Constitution actually doesn't have anything about reproductive rights in it.

The argument was the ninth amendment, so by that logic, open carry and other rights liberals don't like should be protected.

Well, it's fair enough since everyone's always encouraging the use of the ignore feature. Kind of loses its effect when you post something like this, though.

I've never used any ignore feature on any board I've ever joined. I honestly don't see the point, because I can ignore someone or just decide not to respond to them if I want.
