That reminded me of something that I had thought of. The Tuvix episode would have been better if the Voyager crew gave Tuvix a going away party. But since Neelix was the person who would normally plan and set up the party, have Tuvix plan and set up the going away party. Even have him sign welcome back cards for Tuvok and Neelix, have the party start before he was split back into Neelix and Tuvok and then continue it afterwards with a welcome back party that Tuvix would have also set up and planned out. Having Tuvix clean up after the going away party but before being split back into Neelix and Tuvok might be too much.
Re: The older second one. Carol floating around outside the window is a scene right out of "Lost In Space". They basically mashed up TOS and "Lost In Space". Which just goes to show, non-nerds couldn't tell the difference at the time.
So, I just got back from the Star Trek cruise, which this year was celebrating the 30th anniversary of Voyager. Every VOY cast member was on the ship (Except Beltran, who canceled), and Brannon Braga as well. They had an interesting panel at one point, where the host Lolita Fatjo stated she thought VOY had a tough time because it had to live in DS9's shadow, and I thought "What?" I mean, even now you can see it's the opposite. A lot of popular media hops from TNG right to VOY like DS9 never existed. For instance, Janeway has a statue in Indiana, but where is Sisko's statue in New Orleans? Plus, two years ago was the 30th anniversary of DS9, but they barely mentioned it on the cruise. And maybe that's because they can't get most of the cast on the ship. I dunno. You can get everyone from VOY at a con, but good luck getting Brooks, Meaney, and Siddig. Plus, Auberjonois is sadly no longer with us. Still, a very enjoyable time, and I had some really fun conversations with Brannon Braga. And apparently Beltran would sometimes get so mad about a stupid script he'd throw it across the room and shout "Who wrote this shit?" Which when I picture it is endlessly amusing.
A difference is that outside of the Indianapolis 500 and the big city's sports teams, the rest of the state has pretty much nothing to glom onto. Same with Riverside, Iowa, which seized the notion of being Kirk's birthplace. (They have/had an annual Trek festival. I rolled through it once and enjoyed it.) Whereas New Orleans has a ton of culture to boast about. It doesn't need to brag on being the future birthplace of Benjamin Lafayette Sisko. Google tells me that there was apparently a petition to get a Sisko statue but it fizzled. I imagine whatever part of France Picard is supposedly from doesn't have a statue of him either. Pretty sure San Francisco does not publicize its association with Jonathan Archer (although Wikipedia tells me that he actually was born in upstate NY).
> Pretty sure San Francisco does not publicize its association with Jonathan Archer If I were SF, I'd claim Hikaru Sulu and just ignore Archer's existence.
Do people get laid on those cruises? Like is it a great time for Star Trek singles wanting to have fun or is it all like married Star Trek fans
People definitely get laid. They have singles mixers every day, and late- night dance parties every night. And some petty good- looking ladies too.
