Voter ID laws in Wisconsin are *gasp* disenfranchising eligible black voters

Republicans being racist and trying to suppress minority votes isn't exactly breaking news to anyone.

Holy fuck.

This is so ludicrous that it sounds totally paranoid ... until you find out it's true.

I was listening to an NPR piece this afternoon about the various ways Texas tried to suppress minority votes, to the point that every change to voting laws had to be vetted at the federal level...and not one of them made it past the feds till the Voting Act was loosened up three years ago.

I used to think that way too, but don't hate the player, hate the game! It's a complicated society and lawyers are an absolute necessity. We might bust on lawyers but when you have a good defense attorney on your side (like I would ever have need of any other type of lawyer?) it can make or break your entire future - that's the reality of living in the US these days. Zero defects tolerated, and no second chances so you better get the right people on your side to keep small discrepancies from turning into a show-stopper.

I didn't watch the whole debate (I only stay up late for UFC fights) but was this one of the debate topics? If not, why not? You would think Hillary could tear the conservatives a new one over this. Maybe she's saving that for an "ace up her sleeve" or something.
