I feel for Whoopi. I have always been a fan. She talks about race as something she can see-and knowing what race people are, I found that very interesting. It was always my understanding that Hitler wanted only blond haired blue eyed people on this earth....I assume he wanted everyone else killed.
She is talking about the evils-but it is almost as if she feels something about the evils she as a black person has gone through or any black person, verses a jew. But that probably isn't the case.
I think for myself if I knew I was about to go on tv to talk about the holocaust I would make sure I had my terms down and didn't say anything wrong-maybe she feels she is exempt from saying something wrong on the subject, which is also interesting.
And then at the end she once again says, "Its not racial" and she talks about how will we teach children about what happened in Germany.
I get what she is saying. I don't think she has to be canceled-I think it is better to continue the discussion about it and it is always a good learning lesson for those willing to learn.

Whoopi has earned a lot of good will, in my opinion. The problem is A)she’s spent a good portion of her life claiming to be Jewish and B) theView in particular, has been a show that has condemned the human race for damn near eve thing. C) Not to defend Hitler, but the Nazis had degrees of Jewishness, so if you were 1/3 Jew, for example, you didn’t necessarily face the gas’ chamber. Believe it or not, the Nazis did have nuance. Not that that excuses their behavior.

I was just reading an article that said the Nazis looked at the American racism of that era and decided the "one drop" standard was too severe and unfair.

To reiterate, Hitler thought American racists were being too racist by Nazi standards.
