Just saw it. Was a bit bored by it. Andrea is a big dummy. At the grave scene why fill in Carol and Lori's grave? The bodies as far as we know aren't in them yet. The governor is a real loony bin......
Even more unrealistic than people rising from the dead to eat other people was Merle's roundhouse kick to open up the zombie death match. Great season so far though.
Great show continues to be great. Knowing what I know at this point, I'd much prefer to live in Woodbury than just about anywhere else.
I wonder the significance of the statement Milton made that the Zombie trap, "Hold on... there's something interesting in it's eyes." Merle: "So... don'tkill it?"
I think his point was this particular Zombie was more aggressive then your regular Zombies. It sure was acting like it was pissed off. Maybe Woodbury likes the pissed off variety of Zombie.
Given that it would be better for survivors to band together into a community I'd suspect that most people in Woodbury would think otherwise if they knew exactly what the Governor was. Or at least try to replace him.
Maybe there's yet a darker side to the Governor, but here's my take so far. The Governor's Negatives: 1. He massacred the National Guardsmen and then lied about it. True, this was not exactly ethical behavior by our normal standards. But I think it is, in context, justifiable. If he took these men into the community (or left them free to wander about and potentially discover the community), they might've been a threat to his rule. Remember, this is not a 21st Century constitutional democratic republic, anymore; it's more like Greece or Italy, 2500 years ago. The weak WILL be victimized by the strong. 2. He holds gladiator games with walkers. A little barbaric? Perhaps. But I think he's right. It gives the people an outlet and it teaches them about the enemy they all face. 3. He's keeping his daughter--a walker--in his house. Poor judgment? Yes. Misplaced sentimentality? Definitely. But understandable? Sure. Even Michonne was doing something similar. 4. He's secretly undertaking some kind of scientific project. Now, it's unclear where this will go, but, thus far, it doesn't seem harmful. Understanding the walkers is certainly important in this world, and if they're trying to find a cure or treatment, that's a worthwhile goal. 5. The heads in the tank? Okay, I'll admit that's kinda creepy. But harmful? To whom? So, let's balance that out with the Governor's Positives: 1. He's organized a community where the members are (relatively) safe from walkers, have some measure of comfort, and even seem content. There seems to be order and little-to-no person-on-person crime. 2. He has rescued some (granted, not all) people he's come across. 3. He doesn't seem overtly tyrannical; he seems to value the opinion of the community. 4. He's allowed those who want to leave to do so, with an invitation to return if they desire. I've no doubt some other darkness will emerge (and I have ZERO knowledge of the comic books, if they give any indication), but, so far, I'd have to say I'd much rather live in the Governor's tribe than in Rick's.
Well, given that the show has veered so much into an alterni-verse, the comics really wouldn't help much, if at all at this point.
Where was it explained that Lori was in the fat dudes belly? Yes, he was in the same area where the death/birth occured and it makes sense that he might have taken a chunk out of her, but how did 1 zombie eat a full person? There was seemingly no remains at all. Im not sure I believe that zombies falling to bits are now able to eat bone?? Great episode although the phone call at the end? Harking back a few pages, no idea why people are moaning about spoilers in this thread. If you haven't seen the episode, don't open the thread. Its not rocket science. In the UK we get the episodes on the Friday night, 5 days after the US. I just don't open the thread until I've caught the episode.
The producer said so on "The Talking Dead". Where Lori was, she's gone, and there are bloody drag marks leading to fat guy, and fat guy has a bloody mouth and strings of her hair on his mouth. I dunno if he ate her ALL, or if there are leftovers around a corner somewhere, but, that's the message, yeah.
Yeah there is no doubt we were meant to believe that one Zombie ate Lori. That one Zombie had probably been waiting the whole time since the Zombie plague started as a Zombie with no food and when he finally got fresh meat hell yeah he was going to eat it all and not share one bit with any other Zombie. Think about that. How many millions of Zombie's have not tasted human flesh because there was none around or they weren't close enough to get what little was left after they turned. Poor Zombies.
I don't know the comics so I don't know where this is going, but the Governor certainly gives off a very familiar vibe: He makes the trains go on time Excellent acting by Morrissey btw. Very subdued with complete madness just boiling underneath the surface.
Anyone still want to try and argue the governor is a good guy? That scene with Maggie was intense, especially knowing what happened at the equivalent point in the comics where the rape actually happened.
