Well, my coworker who is from Boston and essentially bleeds Sam Adams is already putting money down on a Pats-Cardinals Superbowl.

That's no a bad bet. New England is playing better than anyone in the AFC right now. I wouldn't rule out Green Bay yet, though. They've been destroying teams lately, not just beating them.

I think the NFC Championship game will be Arizona vs. Green Bay. And if that happens, I won't have any idea who to cheer for.

Ok. I feel better about things. The Cardinals looked like crud against a division rival again. Normalcy is restored.

Patriots continue to thrash anybody who stands in front of them. What happened to Detroit's #1 defense? Really looking forward to next week's game with the Packers. I think it will come down to the better defense.

Things are starting to look up for the waterchickens. We've GOT to win next weekend, but if we can pull that off, I'll have some hope for the season.

It's nice to have a defense again.

Finally, as a Jets fan, some reason to hope! With the Raiders winning today, the odds for the #1 pick in the draft go way up! Lose out, including losing to Tennessee, Jacksonville beats Tennessee, and a New Orleans or Carolina team that just doesn't care finds a way to lose to Tampa Bay, and maybe the Jets will finally have a quarterback!

    Wow.

Don't know if the locker room rumors were true, or if it's just that trying to build a scheme fitting both Wilson, Lynch and Harvin were too much, it really seems that the trade has worked out (although that only makes the original trade to get him that much worse).

With the 9ers losing to the damn RAIDERS! ( ) and Arizona continuing to struggle (even though Andy Reid Andy Reided and eventually gave them the win) things are looking up for us. We've got both the Niners and Rams at home. Cards away could be rough, but I'm thinking we can win out. If we do, the division is ours and there is a half decent chance we have home field advantage (a big deal for us) all the way through the playoffs.

Seahawks definitely seem to have their mojo back. I could see a Green Bay/Seattle NFC championship game unless either team runs off the rails.

Seems more and more likely, and probably Denver/New England in the AFC. I would prefer not to see a rematch of last year, but any other combination from that grouping would make for a good Superbowl.

Cart before the horse, no? Seattle doesn't even have its division locked down, let alone the conference.

You have to look at how teams are playing right now. The entirety of 13 weeks doesn't tell as much of the story as the past four.

More importantly, if Seattle beats Arizona again the Seahawks will have the tiebreaker for winning the division and will probably end up with a bye. And as for the other two games each team has remaining, Seattle plays San Francisco and the Rams at home while Arizona plays them on the road. Seattle/Arizona in two weeks is huge, and Seattle has to be the favorite, even playing in Arizona, given the current state of Arizona quarterbacking.

No offense, but Cardinals haven't looked the same since Palmer went down. Can't really judge the team based on their record prior.

No, I don't think it will be a cake walk, but the hawks should go into the game decently heavy favorites.

As for the team in general, now that we are getting healthy, we're pretty damn dangerous. D is looking to be back in 2013 form, which is damn scary all by itself. Offense has definitely taken a hit compared to last year. Lynch is banged up a bit and Tate is proving to be a big loss (his expected replacement Harvin turned out to be a bust). On the plus side, Wilson is continuing to mature. If he keeps getting better, eventually people are going to have to recognize him as an elite QB and not just some game manager put into a system that makes him look good.

At this point it's math. How much superfluous offense did we have last year (only need to get 1 more point than the opponent to win), how much did we lose with Tate and a diminished Lynch, how much better is Wilson?

We aren't as great as we were last year, and the season isn't over yet, but right now, how many teams better?

For those of you fortunate enough no to have watched the Jets against the Titans, it was every bit as bad a game as you might imagine, and then some. Since the Jets won't have a chance at Mariota I suppose I can now await the news of them gratuitously trading up to pick Winston and him going to prison before he ever plays for the Jets. As a Jets fan that's just the kind of thing you learn to expect.

    Christie responds to backlash

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie defended his longtime love for the Dallas Cowboys on Monday after his cheering for the team sparked a social media firestorm.

Christie was spotted high-fiving Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in a luxury box Sunday night at the Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game.

And we control our own destiny. All we gotta do is win out and we have home field advantage all the way through.
