I can't see the attempt at criminal charges going anywhere (Trump and his upper echelons are good at just aiming their deranged followers at people and letting them do the dirty work), but civil suits could definitely have some legs and I look forward to seeing them.
Women responding on Twitter saying if a man talks like this, check he hasn't spiked your drinks and have the pepper spray ready. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/donald-trump-protect-women_n_66f25f8de4b02f84278be7c8
I love the "you will no longer be thinking about abortion" line. Like, what did that even mean? Regardless of how you interpret it, it's stupid, but is he saying women suddenly won't have things like ectopic pregnancies? Is he saying he's going to federally insure a right to abortion? Is he saying we're going to ban people from even thinking about abortion? So many stupid ways to interpret it.
He's hoping women will believe he'll carve out some protections. What we actually hear is the plot of The Stepford Wives.
This doesn't get talked about enough That and the fact that there's a lot of Republican moms who want the option for their young daughters who get pregnant after a frat party in college
To be fair, if I had to sleep with the likes of Cruz or Gaetz, I'd stab myself in the abdomen with a coat hanger.
The gross asshole who's running against Sherrod Brown in Ohio has something to say. "Sadly, by the way, there’s a lot of suburban women, a lot of suburban women, that are like listen, abortion is it. If I can’t have an abortion in this country whenever I want, I won’t vote for anybody else. "OK. It’s a little crazy by the way — but — especially for women that are like past 50. I’m thinking to myself, I don’t think that’s an issue for you." https://www.wonkette.com/p/sherrod-browns-gross-republican-opponent Still more evidence that Republicans are constitutionally incapable of understanding why anyone would care about an issue that doesn't affect them personally at right this very instant. Unless, of course, it's the critically important issue of where trans people go to take a shit.
Trump says he won't run again in 2028 if he loses. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2024/09/trump-election-loss-running-again-interview/ Of course, he also said that if he lost to Biden in 2020 we'd never hear from again, and we all know how that went.
1: Trump runs again. 2: Republican party says "No, you lost twice, dipshit." 3: Trump says "election fraud." 4: Republican party says "you actually believe that? Still, no." 5: Trump says "Oh yeah? That's fine, I'll start my own political party..." 6: Trump forms Blackjack and Hookers Party. 7: Easy win for Kamala.
Now, Tammy Baldwin has what I think is a good ad. It's a guy on his porch, calmly explaining that he's a Republican but he's going to vote for her because she cares about the border and drugs, and President Trump himself signed one of her bills with an appealing name into law. That ad I expect to help peel some voters away from the Republican.
So I watched the Trek section of the Nerds for Harris Panel and it was so cringe worthy. I normally don't care about actors opinions, but my god. I was glad to not see (or Nazi if you're a leftist) Shatner, Stewart, Brooks, Mulgrew or Bakula thankfully. So no Captains except for Ryan, Burton and Frakes who nobody cares about. No talk about Harris' policies, just more feelingsP ure cringe. Linda Carter looked good, but she has a gargley voice.
You don't care for actors opinions, but then you try to pretend it is good that people acting as captains are not there? You are either pretending you are not influenced by actors who play captains, or you were really thinking Harris is wrong because you actually thing that actors who play captain have some special skill in picking leaders. You need to stop sucking down those stupid pills. Are you drunk or on drugs? If you are you at least have an excuse for that fucked up shit.
Jeri Ryan, I really love Seven and I want to see the ST Legacy series go forward, but Goddamn, shut the fuck up. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
Cry Moar. I am making chicken soup for the soul and it requires the tears of INCEL MAGAts for that perfect flavor.
On "ban abortion nationwide?" About 30-40% depending on the survey, nowhere close to a majority based on actual votes to either defend abortion rights or no. On "coming after contraception"? Except for extremely fundy Catholics - this one is in the single digits. When you can't pass a full abortion ban in KANSAS - it's a political loser everywhere. Dems would be insane to NOT run on it. Hell, in 2011 they put a personhood amendment on the ballot in Mississippi - MISSISSIPPI! - and they got their ass kicked. Nevertheless, a significant share of Republicans in Congress are co-sponsors of a bill to Apply the protections of the 14th Amendment (such as remain) to zygotes from the moment of conception. An utterly insane position, by the way, arising from not having a rationally thought out position to begin with. Yet ask any of them and they'll deny holding that view because EVEN THEY know it's political suicide.
If you don't know about multiple significant policies she has detailed you are either actively avoiding the knowledge or waiting for it to be spoon-fed to you like a toddler.
https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/trump-camp-says-state-menstrual-surveillance-programs-are-a-ok State monitoring of a biological process in a person’s body? Fan-fucking-tastic! State monitoring of the food supply or who buys a gun? This tyranny will not stand!
