Do you understand how language works? Outside of France, there are no high priests to rule on meaning. Meaning is what the users determine it to be. Majority convention actually matters, not your own personal point of view.

I'm not a fan of Palin, I just thought it was an interesting take, especially coming from a liberal historian. And it coincides with the easily offended neo Victorian Puritanism so prevalent in today's liberalism. That's an attitude that goes beyond Palin, (who is yesterday's news) and is applicable across a range of issues.
