I think she used pics of the one at the attraction as reference, actually.

Damn - I think they were, but nobody ever thought of holding hands during a life-changing poop back then. But I can picture it:
"dude! It's all you! Own that shit! Work that shit! That shit ain't got shit on you bro!"

First, my two kitties! Closest one is laying on my rucksack, our other kitty behind her. Neither looks too happy. Second one is my more adventerous kitty looking surprised.

Drive thru safari park south of Atlanta fun! We didn't take the bus option because we thought we might not get a window seat. THus, I decided to drive my VW thru a buffalo herd - what could go wrong? I guess the girl at the gate selling us a "slobber towel" should have been a red flag as to "how bad it could get" but of course it was too late now. Yes, the first pic is a BUFFALO/BISON about to stick it's head in the car! Hint - if an animal is so big it has to tilt it's head sideways to get thru your window, you don't want it in your lap. :( The elk and deer (some European or African deer, not regular whitetails) were chill - they cautiously approached and gently took the food from your hand. Buffalo, wild African cows and such, not so much. We are washing our clothes now, washing the car when it gets light out tomorrow. But those bison were amazingly huge - rock solid shoulders neck and head. I can imagine a heard of thousands rumbling across the plains! :hail:
They had monkeys and other critters (in cages not running loose) too. Now here is something I never knew. They had a baboon that kept going crazy over something in the crowd of people watching it. Hair puffing up to look intimidating, throwing itself against the cage, pacing angrily, etc. What was upsetting the baboon? It turns out a guy in the crowd was putting his hand on his wife's shoulder. Yes - when the baboon sees a male of any species (human included) getting physically close to a female the baboon freaks out and wants to fight! The baboon wants to be the "Alpha Male" and can't deal with another male getting attention from a female. Even if we are a different type of primate that doesn't matter - nobody gets close with a female except him or the fight is on! Amazing!

My little bud at the dog park, pure happiness. The dog park is pretty much his favorite place in the world.

"So, I heard that polyamorous people put a pineapple in the child seat of the shopping cart and strap it in when they go grocery shopping as a secret code that they're open and looking for new partners. Is that true?"

"Well, it is now and I'm totally doing that."

Kommanders pineapple is sadly smarter than most of the kids riding in a Walmart shopping cart - or even pushing one!

That was at Meijer. I don't go to Walmart unless there are no other options available, and even then, I'd be too irritated about being at Walmart to be a smart ass while shopping.

I made a cover for the writing project I started a few months ago.

    bookcover2small.jpg

I was trying to make it as vague as possible. There's an incident of some sort, and this takes place after that incident. There's also an expedition of some sort, that is numbered, so there's at least two expeditions planned. Also, something or someone fails at some point. This is reinforced by the buildings in Detroit. Everyone in Detroit got there by failing at some point.

So, what genre is this? Some sort of non-fiction about something that happened in Detroit? A thriller of some sort? No, it's a D&D style epic fantasy set in a slightly futuristic, recovering post-apocalyptic world. It started as a writing exercise/experiment, but it seems to be working pretty well, so I'm moving forward.

The stock photo I used was actually a daytime shot, but by playing with the color balance and contrast, I made it look like sunset. I wasn't expecting that. I might change the title, but the photo and author's name will probably stay the same.

    Yes.

Technically, I live in Hamtramck, but close enough.

And yes, I got here through failure, like I said.

Well, I wasn't going to ask about failure. I was going to ask if you've ever been to Michigan Central Station? That place fascinates me, albeit not enough that I would otherwise visit the area.

    No, I have not.

    I made a cover for Part 2.

    Exp2small.jpg

I probably will not use this cover, I'm mostly just practicing.

Good job! Birds can be very, very picky when it comes to taking up residence in a house you provide. I personally have never had much success. That said there is some species of swallow that has spawned several generations above my front door, and the actual nests (which their ancestors have built) are used over & over year after year. This year was a success! All the baby birds survived and
will make their own babies next year. Some years the babies die learning how to fly, or get eaten by snakes. I try to provide areas where wildlife can prosper in my yard - rabbits, birds, whatever.

I think I may have scared her away. The birdhouse is on the side of my garden shed. I didn't realize that going in the shed might scare the birdie. :(

Cool! I have wrens (or maybe sparrows) in a nest in my hanging fern. The babies just hatched a day or so ago. No chipmunks where I live though. That said there are two does and three fawns that come out (yard deer I guess at this point) way across a field behind my house in some guy's yard. The fawns chase each other around while the mamas watch them. Now hopefully they will not get the itch to cross the very busy road about 1/4 mile from that yard! :nono: Wish I had a great camera with a zoom lens - the pics would be awesome!
