Okay, you know how Picard face-palming has become the universal meme for "oh boy..."? We need to make the meme for "I can't even...", be an animated .gif of Kirk stumbling back towards his chair in "Search for Spock". That's what fits comments like this.
>Be Kaepernick >elite athlete >best defense in NFL >top 2-3 coach >no film on me >experience success >Jed York >runs Harbaugh et al. out of town >three surgeries >no longer an elite athlete >Sleep with Aldon Smith's gf >alienate everyone on the team >no one likes me >Smith smashes Benz up >try to force trade out of SF >fail >again, no longer an elite athlete >can't read defenses >be single read meme QB who stares down receivers >get phoney baloney medical excuse >petition the league to wear reflective visor due to said medical excuse so DB's and CB's can't see my eyes >get rejected by the league >last on depth chart in training camp >going to get benched or maybe even cut >give up >prob gonna quit football >maybe try and save face or at least stick it to the Niners on my way out of town ummmm BLM!
The guy sounds like an ass but he should have the right to observe the anthem or not. It's just an anthem, don't know why Americans are so fussy over it.
I honestly think there might be some truth to this. He probably won't finish the year in the NFL and players who fail out of the league almost never get to keep their endorsements because companies do not want has beens as their spokesmen. BUT if he makes it into a political/racial statement then maybe, just maybe, he makes some of his endorsements stick around for a while due to his supposedly "brave" stance. It very well might be he sees the writing on the wall and is just, cynically, trying to angle for the best post NFL landing for himself.
I didn't know he fucked Aldon Smith's girlfriend. Gutsy move, Smith is crazy. Explains a lot as to how Kap lost the room too.
BTW I saw the video of him playing at the Q/Murph and most of the stadium booed him when he didn't stand for the national anthem then much of the stadium booed him any time he got near the ball for the rest of the game. Folks in San Diego take patriotism seriously and insulting the nation means they do not like you.
Well, looks like he's putting his money where his mouth is, so maybe some good will come out of this. That plus the sadly predictable backlash inclines me to support him.
Those folks need to learn the difference between patriotism and nationalism, along with the difference between an insult and a legitimate protest.
He insults the nation when he insults the flag and when he claims he is so oppressed while making $100 million. Especially when the vast, vast, vaaaast majority of the claims of racial bias are proven to be unfounded. That is why they keep failing in court. Again when you are an entertainer dependent upon the good will of fans for your privileged lifestyle don't whine when you deliberately piss off fans because your career is failing and they decide not to support you any more. He can pretend that is a protest all he wants, but, private individuals are free to no longer support him if they disagree and that is exactly what happen.
It's a fucking joke website, fucknut. You're even more of a humorless twat than RickDeckard, and that's saying something. Now neg me, you piece of filth.
How does that work? Does the flag have a little ghost inside that's telepathic, so if you insult it, it gets sad, and then the sadness projects into everyone that believes in it? Does it only work for sadness, joy, and outrage? If I use a flag as a condom, will it, and thus patriotic people all simultaneously cum? What if I wipe my ass on flag toilet paper? Does everyone feel kinda shitty? How far does this bullshit have to go before it all breaks down, and you admit it's the same thing as dancing around a fire with a bone in your nose waving a mojo stick?
But he did get something right. “We have a presidential candidate who has deleted emails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate. That doesn’t make sense to me because if that was any other person you’d be in prison.” -- Colin Kaepernick.
Bullshit. And he's not "insulting the flag." He's standing up for the values the flag is supposed to represent. His patriotism compels him to protest. This is not about his personal situation, it's about what's going on in the country and the people who are oppressed. You don't think the courts themselves are often biased in favor of the police, to say nothing of racial bias? When has he been whining? He seems to be prepared for people to be displeased with his actions. That's kind of the point.
Quest, freedom of speech works when someone is free to speak their mind and everyone else is free to say they disagree and not support what someone has said/done if they so choose. That is exactly what happened here and public figures know what the landmines are so he has no one to blame but himself.
