O'er the land of the Fears and the home of the Slaves Seriously dude, other countries look at you guys and wonder what the fuck happened?
If Kaep turns out to be a Gary Johnson supporter, that'd be pretty nifty. I'll watch the meltdown of my Democratic friends on Facebook with glee as they suddenly try to talk about what a horrible thing he's done by disrespecting the flag.
I'll take that deafening silence as an admission that it's all in people's heads, and they can choose to be offended or not, but having made that choice, it's all on them, not Kaepernick.
Talk about standing up for the flag! Anyway, people like Dinner have such a simplified concept of patriotism, it's hardly worth arguing the point with him. I saw Abby Hoffman speak once, he was wearing an American flag sweater, and told a story about having worn such a sweater to a court appearance once, promptly to be charged with contempt. Later that year, Jackie Kennedy wore a similar sweater, and suddenly it was the height of fashion. Who is any one person to think they can determine what is respecting the flag, what is expressing love for country? I'd say Hoffman was a true patriot and fuck anybody who thinks standing during the Anthem is a requirement for such status.
Not that it surprises me, but you've completely missed the point. Nobody cares that you disagree with him or would denny your freedom to do so. We care that you are claiming ownership of what it means to be a patriotic American. We are disagreeing with your notion that patriotism requires saluting a flag or standing up during a song.
Along with the idiocy, sexual inadequacy, pervasive body odour and general uselessness and failure as a human being?
Lol at WF shouting "free speech free speech." Because everybody is wanting the government to arrest Kaepernick and throw away the key.
Respecting America is understanding what liberty and freedom really means. It seems right now that only a small minority of Americans can claim that.
49ers announced today that Kaepernick will be the second string quarterback. Here's a live look at their headquarters:
Even besides that, it's BS anyway. The retired military contingent of San Diego may think that, but the liberal weenie natives don't give a fuck about football and won't miss it when Alex Spanos gets his new stadium in LA.
Kaepernick stood and applauded during the "salute to military" bit during the pregame and posed for pics and signed numerous autographs after the game. Some people are incapable of seeing nuance.
No one is arguing otherwise, numbnuts. But the idea that it's an insult to soldiers or the Constitution is a load of bullshit, as is the idea of someone protesting white privilege because he himself is well off and adopted by white parents.
Dinner has every right to say what he believes and people need to realize that. That's what you sound like.
