It's entirely possible that if Kaepernick were the unquestioned starter for his team that he wouldn't be staging his protest. I'm a born cynic and could totally see him doing this as a way to draw attention to himself because of his diminished status.

Regardless of his motive, though, I still support his right to do it.

Reminds of an article a while back I saw on FB slamming Michael Jordan for not speaking up for blacks at the height of his career. Given all the shit thrown at Kap right now, I hardly blame him for not saying anything about Rodney King (which I think another of his teammates had choice words about at the time).

Anybody who can play baseball well is an idiot to pursue a career in the NFL. If somebody wants to criticize Kaepernick, that's a hell of a better reason than whether he stands up.
