Yeah, it seems pretty obvious that this is just going to be a random action movie with "Star Trek" slapped on the front. Meh.

    Still better than Nemeshit

That, and it looks like this may not be a complete crib off of a TOS episode, so there's that.

Oh, dear. I am seriously *not* excited by this.

Still, it's early days. There may be much more to this movie. Hopefully, Kirk and crew stuck in the woods will not be the whole of the movie.

Doesn't look too good from that trailer but I'll watch in anyway.

At the start of the trailer they are in something old... could it be that they find an old starship, after the Enterprise got destroyed, that looks more like the TOS-E?

There's nothing that says 'Star Trek' like motorbike stunts and beastie boys music....

Indeed. All are throwbacks to the 2009 film.
    It's a great trailer.

No, it has, you just haven't come to the realization yet that you have awful taste and zero ability to effectively critique movies.

The jokes arn't funny, the action looks pointless and the music is nauseating (unless you're a gumpy teenager who's locked inside his bedroom and wishes to annoy his parents)

    Non-stop mindless action? Check.

    CGI everywhere? Check.

    Stupid one-liners? Check.

    Music for pre-pubescent boys? Check.

    Fucking motorbikes? Check.

I liked one thing in this trailer. McCoy saying "At least I won't die alone" just as Spock beams away and leaves him alone.

That said what I do not like about this trailer:

    1) Still using the awful looking Abramverse Enterprise from the 2009 movie basically.
    2) Action sequences with the rapid cut editing that has never been appropriate for Star Trek.
    3) Emphasis on completely new aliens who look quite bizarre.
    4) Can't be sure but there is something in the trailer really "off" about Chris Pines delivery of dialogue. Sounds like he is delivering his lines while mentally thinking "I've only got to do one more of these before continuing as a serious actor............"

Isn't there anyone at least annoyed by the fact that for the THIRD CONSECUTIVE MOVIE they're using the same "Enterprise hull torn open" during some kind of battle that Abrams used SEVEN YEARS AGO?

And I won't get into that awful music. ....

The Beastie Boys are fucking awesome, anyone who thinks otherwise is probably into getting finger blasted in the butt while listening to Micheal Bolton.

Just because some music is great does not make it appropriate for a Star Trek movie.

I think a number of Adeles songs are great but I wouldn't want them as the theme to Iron Man.

    That's a pretty low bar.

Well, Simon Pegg said he had to make it less "Star Trek-y" and it looks like he succeeded. :bergman:

This is maybe a crazy idea, but I was hoping to find out something about the plot before deciding whether it sucks or not.

That funny moment with McCoy was about the only thing I actually liked about the trailer. Everything else seemed pretty uninspired.

But who knows? We'll have to wait and see.

And I find the association of a Beastie Boys song with Kirk to be a tiresome throwback. Can we get Adult Kirk and not Man-Child Kirk, please?

The Beastie Boys would be considered classical music by the 23rd century.
